the Spots II

And the answer is: The Sex Pistols on Tour Secretly.
In August of 1977, the pistols went under the pseudonym the SPOTS for a secret tour of the UK because their fans, shows and reputation lead to repeated cancellation of tour dates.
but the doc gets good marks for his attempt with the Ink Spots.

I should know something about the Sex Pistols. I'm not that old. Goodwin would have known.

Oh yes I am SO hip. London, 1977 I believe it was, I was in the cinema the night the Pistols played their famous show at the Islington Screen On The Green. Unfortunately, however, I was there to see a late-night movie & I left the cinema as it was filling up with hardcore punks, who also lined the platform at the Angel tube station. By the time Britain's most important band hit the stage I was safely tucked up in the student dorms with nothing more edgy in my system than a cup of tea, which was my drug of choice throughout the punk years. Good to know that one has one's finger on the pulse of the times, eh?
